Honey Veil Co. is a fast-rising matcha café founded by University of Miami sisters Ceci (22) and Regi (19) Alcobe. What began as their mom’s sourdough hobby—shared in a family group chat—quickly evolved into a full-on business: first cinnamon rolls, then a mobile trailer, and now a permanent South Miami storefront set.
In under a year, the sisters transformed a farmers market experiment into a viral brand, fueled by social media buzz and creative matcha drinks. Their menu features ceremonial-grade matcha sourced from Japan, paired with inventive flavors like blueberry jam, honey whip, and banana bread syrup. The Banana Bread Matcha has become their top-selling drink.
The business is a true family operation: their mom handles baking, Regi develops new flavors, and Ceci runs sourcing and operations. Their athletic background in competitive tennis shows in their discipline—and in their focus on cleaner ingredients like honey, maple syrup, and coconut sugar instead of refined sugar.
Currently, their trailer operates at the University of Miami during the week and in South Miami on weekends, often selling out by early afternoon. With a storefront ambitions to expand to cities like New York—and even Tokyo—Honey Veil is quickly becoming one of Miami’s most talked-about new cafés.
